A page boy or ring bearer is a member of a bridal party. He usually walks in front of the bride at the beginning of the wedding ceremony, often carrying the wedding rings and accompanying a flower girl down the aisle.
Page boys are usually closely associated with either the bride or groom's family. The most popular age group for page boys or ring bearers is between 2 and 8 years of age.
A page boy is usually dressed in a suit to match the groom and groomsmen in the wedding party. Often the page boy will wear an acccessory such as a tie, that matches a colour that the flower girl or bridesmaids are wearing. If the page boy is quite young (eg 2 - 4 years of age) often a bridesmaid, junior bridesmaid, mother of the bride or mother of the groom will accompany them as they make their entrance, as the experience can be overwhelming for a very young page boy.
